I have begun the process of polishing my implement from the underworld.  This involves using progressively finer sandpaper and is quite tedious.  However, it also doesn’t really require a lot of thinking.  Mostly idiot-proof, actually.  I will probably be polishing for most of the rest of the day.  Missy said she was pleased that I had done so well on my first try.  I will take that as a rather significant vote of confidence.  The pictures were taken near the end of sanding with 240 grit paper.  I am about ready to move up to 320 and then 400 and THEN 600.  After that I will use something called simichrome polish to give it a mirror finish.  I imagine my arm and fingers and maybe even my back will be hurting by the end of the day, but I guess that comes with the territory.
